Spendor BC-3, The Monitor
The Spendor BC 3 Studio Monitor is one of the most interesting speaker systems build in the past millenium. The concept is unique, as this speaker uses the whole "corpus" to produce a extremly rich and harmonic sound. Usually, the enclosure has to be as stable as possible to avoid resonances of the corpus. Spendor ignored this tenet and integrated the "harmonic overtone range" with an amazing result. Just like well built musical instruments, this strategy resulted in a very unique character and charme, without loosing naturality.
The sound - if possible to find the right words for it - is a new experience of "acustical" music reproduction. The 30 cm woofer is deeeep, precise and rigorous. It fills huge rooms with high ceilings without any problem. The midrange reproduces voices in a way, that you do not need any fantasy to be part of the scene. Brilliant and soft upper frequncies rounds the extraordinary speaker off. A 4-way masterpiece that does not need more than 30 watts to sound like it should.
The optical and technical condition is good as new, only minimal wear. From first non smoking owner.
