Akai X-330D Autoreverse
Beautiful Akai large reel RTR with auto-reverse function. The first Akai reverse machine ever. 3 speeds, 4.75, 9.5 and 19 cm/sec. Up to 24 hours of music in one go with a 7200 tape. That was a sensation in 1968.
The machine sounds very good at 9.5 and 19 cm/sec, but at 4.75 cm/sec you have to make compromises in the high frequency range. That sounds like "vintage".
The technical condition is excellent and completely unworn. Only the wooden casing shows a few "signs of the times", but that is still very neat. Overall a wonderfully unusual gem that makes listening to music fun. Or just looking at it.
