Best possible original condition, near mint, with new foam surrounds. These speakers have never been refoamed with self made surrounds. They waited at my home for the right ones to come.
By the way.... I purchased in 2014 foam surrounds for the APM-8 from a russian seller on Ebay. The cost was relatively high, but considering the value of the APM-8 a more than fair price. 10 years later, I can say that these foam surrounds were perfect.
When I installed these on my own APM-8 back then, they perfectly fit. There was absolutely nothing to optimize or to cut. It seemed like they took an original and copied it 1:1. Look for yourself, would you think that these surrounds are after market? Surely not.
Sonically, it perfectly met the specs as well. I am a quite experienced listener and had memories how these speakers sounded with the original surrounds. I was amazed that it seemed exactly the same. even the measured Fc of the woofers and midbass were just one or two Herz off spec... Which certainly happens with originals as well, depending on teperature and humidity.
Still today, they play perfectly and I would say this work was a masterpiece. I should have bought another set....
