Technics SL-P 1200b BBC Radio PRO Version of the 1200! XXX-RARE!
After the great success of the legendary studio and DJ player SL-P1200, the 1200b was launched to be used in profeesional broadcast environment.
Some features were added, others removed. The power supply is identical to the 1200, the mecanism and servo control including readout and filter section is advanced version you find in the 2300 as well. Worth to mention is the Burr Brown 16 bit DA stage and the balanced XLR analog outputs. For broadcast use, a faderstart and a frame counter were added.
Optically, slightly different, see the display section. The fader replaced the original pitcher which was placed close to the display on the right side.
Today, 20 years later it is still a very nice and extraordinary CD-Player with a technical standard, that many recent models can only dream of. The sound is very typical for the nineties, deep, clear and detailed. Simply "rich".
The optical condition is fine, 8 out of 10. There are some signs of usage on the "relatively sensitive" surface of this player, but hardly visible. It has been cleaned and looks great. Technically, just revised. Please note that this unit has been used more than the regular 1200 as it comes from BBC Radio. However, perfect working condition.
